Call for Nominations
Each Fall, the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers (NNCG) seeks candidates to serve on its Steering Committee and Task Forces.
This is a valuable opportunity for NNCG members to contribute
to the strategic direction, programming, and overall impact of our network.
Why Serve?
By serving on the Steering Committee or a Task Force, members help guide NNCG’s mission:
To increase the quality, effectiveness, and capacity of grantmakers by mobilizing
and strengthening the work of knowledgeable, ethical, and experienced consultants.

You may nominate yourself or another member.

Name and contact information for nominee
Brief statement of interest (for self-nominations) OR Rationale (for third-party nominations)
Relevant experience aligned with NNCG’s mission and criteria indication of interest in Steering Committee, Task Force, or both

Steering Committee Overview
Term Length: Two (2) years
Meetings: Bi-monthly via conference call
(approx. 90 minutes)
Responsibilities:
- Set the strategic and operational framework for NNCG
- Provide oversight to officers, Task Forces, and operations
- Serve on at least one Task Force.
- Ensure adequate resources and support fundraising
- Represent NNCG at key events and conferences
- Actively participate in meetings and NNCG events
- Review financials and uphold fiduciary responsibility
- Promote NNCG programs and recruit supporters
- Identify and avoid conflicts of interest
Ideal Steering Committee
Candidates
We seek individuals who:
- Demonstrate leadership and alignment with NNCG’s strategic priorities
- Work collaboratively and are action-oriented
- Have a willingness to leverage networks for fundraising and visibility
- Represent diverse perspectives (including gender, race, geography, practice area, etc.)
- Are current NNCG members in good standing (signed Code of Ethics)
- Bring experience in consulting and/or philanthropic infrastructure
- Have familiarity with technology or AI
- Are connected to adjacent networks (e.g., 21/64, P150, Daylight Advisors, PEAK
Evaluation Criteria
- Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building skills
- Willingness to serve as a public ambassador for NNCG
- Service to philanthropy and the broader community
- Relevant skills or background for current NNCG leadership needs
- Diversity across multiple dimensions
- Geographic and practice-area representation

Task Force Opportunities
All NNCG members are welcome to serve on a Task Force.
Steering Committee members are expected to serve on at least one Task Force.
Most Task Forces meet monthly and are guided by annual goals aligned with NNCG’s strategic priorities:
Membership Experience and Partnerships: Enhance the benefits of membership and partnership to improve member satisfaction and retention.
Strategic Resource Development: Build NNCG’s reputation, visibility, and financial sustainability through fundraising, grants, and sponsorships.
Program: Develop and implement programming across four pillars: Community (Virtual Cafes and Learning Communities), Craft (Skills-Building Workshops), Content/Insights (Sector knowledge and trend analysis), and Connection (Informal gatherings and open convenings).
All programming is guided by an equity lens.
