Hi all. A community foundation client has adopted a new strategic plan that prioritizes equity, justice, and inclusion in its supported region. Their subsequent work has entailed replacing their historically siloed, issue-focused programs with an integrated community grantmaking structure that resources community priorities through direct service, organizing, advocacy, and policy work. The foundation now hopes to articulate and formalize an integrated grantmaking framework in keeping with its other changes.
I’m looking for 1) high-quality examples of integrated, equity-minded grantmaking frameworks that could be instructive for this partner’s consideration (all are welcome, but those from community/local foundations are likely most relevant) and 2) thought literature on key design characteristics to keep in mind. Appreciating how busy you all are, I’d be so grateful if you have a moment to send suggestions my way!
